Every so often I get the opportunity to photograph really cool places instead of really cool people. This week was no exception when I was asked to photograph an amazing high-rise condominium stocked with Cantoni goodies at the Azure in Uptown for an an ad in the next Dallas issue of Luxe Magazine. Meet Jon, Angela, Paul, Evelyn, Kerri and Dustin. I had a blast with this bunch a few weeks ago. Everyone came to the session prepared to have a good time and to trust my photographic instincts. If I didn’t already know this crew … I would have been extremely intimidated by this talented family. The little red-head is Jennifer’s (my wife) little sister and she’s dating Jon (the tall hunky guy that likes to smile). If you’re not a Polka fan then your missing out. These two are the reining 2010 National Polka Festival King and Queen. I won’t get into specifics … but they dance really good … and Czechs like to dance. Jon can also be seen playing the accordion in and around Texas with the Ennis Czech Boys. So be on the look out. Paul was definitely the crazy one … which I was totally prepared for. He’s in front of the camera more than most … and you’ve probably seen his face on a billboard or two somewhere around Dallas or on a TV commercial. He works the airwaves entertaining many of you in the mornings through your radio as Paul Koffy on the Wake Up With the Wolf Show on 99.5 the Wolf. Kerri is a rock star in more ways than one. She’s obviously a rock star in front of the camera … but I hear she’s a rock star at cutting and styling hair at the Pure Salon in Irving. So make sure to visit her if you’re in the area. A little over a month ago I had the pleasure of working with Ava. Don’t let those muscles fool you either … she’s the sweetest person from the moment you meet her. She drove in from Houston for a fitness competition here in Dallas and wanted a quick session for her portfolio. I was pretty nervous because I’d never done a session like this before … nor had I considered it before she contacted me. My nerves quickly calmed once the session started and we ended up capturing some amazing shots. Here’s a VERY small taste of what we captured that day.

You’ve seen them before and now they’re back for their big wedding day finale. It was a crazy day for Lindsay. Her day (mine too) started off in Rockwall for hair and then North Park for make-up before making her way to the church in the White Rock Lake area to get dressed … all before 1 pm! Wes on the other hand had a fairly relaxed morning … ironing his shirt was the most complicated part. 
He woke up in a cozy bed at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Dallas before heading to the church in a private bus with the wedding party. The day was even complete with the old pulling of the fire alarm trick at the reception … which couldn’t have been more ironic in a building full of firefighters. But it made for good pics and kept the whole fire truck theme alive. I couldn’t have pulled this day off without the help of Jared Rey … a big thanks to him for helping me out that day!

I’ve been waiting VERY patiently to post this bridal session! For those of you who don’t know … this gorgeous bride is my sister-in-law. Her big wedding day was two days ago and I’m so excited to finally unveil her images. To sum things up … her new husband Wes is a fire fighter … so she wanted to do something special for him. Fortunately … my in-laws have a couple of fire fighters in the family … so we were able to take advantage of one of their stations for the photo shoot. I had such a blast with this couple. They really know how to rock the camera in more ways than one. These two met a few years ago at a karaoke contest in Richardson. When they told me they wanted to do “some kind of rockin’ out” picture … I was all for it and had no clue as to how to pull it off. In the end it all came together and we captured some awesome images at the very stage they first laid eyes on each other. I love my job … and clients like these two make it way too easy! If these two can make an engagement session look this good … I can’t wait to see what they do for their wedding in October. Bring it!

I had the honor of photographing Emery and Paul’s wedding festivities a few weeks ago in Abilene. I’d been looking forward to this wedding for a while because it was not only a wedding … but it was also a small reunion with some of my distant family members. Paul’s father and my father are first cousins. And although I’d met his parents a few times … I’d never actually met him or his siblings before. Jennifer and I had such a great time hanging out and getting to know everyone. It’s hard to believe we’d gone so long without ever knowing each other.
