Brandon & Tessa :: Autumn Love
October 20, 2010Just when I felt like I was hitting a wall and needing inspiration … my friend and fellow photographer Jared Rey asks me if I want to join him on a fun personal project he was working on with his new friend Vanessa of Butterfly Sparks Creative. Lucky for me, I had nothing going on and decided to join them later that day. I was immediately inspired by Vanessa’s ability to create a story and successfully engage the couple within it. The images Jared and I captured that day are stunning and couldn’t have done it without her creativity. I most definitely look forward to working with her in the future. Here’s a few of my favorite images from that incredible afternoon.

April & Shawn :: Engaged!
June 9, 2010I had such a blast with this couple. They really know how to rock the camera in more ways than one. These two met a few years ago at a karaoke contest in Richardson. When they told me they wanted to do “some kind of rockin’ out” picture … I was all for it and had no clue as to how to pull it off. In the end it all came together and we captured some awesome images at the very stage they first laid eyes on each other. I love my job … and clients like these two make it way too easy! If these two can make an engagement session look this good … I can’t wait to see what they do for their wedding in October. Bring it!

Mikey & Dash :: Engaged!
April 5, 2010I had been looking forward to this shoot for a while. Working with these two didn’t fall short of my expectations at all. Their session was initially scheduled for
Friday … but I’m glad we changed it to Saturday because the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. They’ll be getting married in June at the Dallas Arboretum. Unfortunately … I’m not the lucky one covering the wedding. You can say I’m a little bummed … these two are a going to make an awesome bride and groom. And the wedding itself will surely be spectacular!

Lindsay & Wes :: Engaged!
March 18, 2010As some of you already know … my sister-in-law Lindsay was recently engaged to Wes. It’s always great to photograph friends and family because you typically know what they like to do and where they feel most comfortable. Much like Jennifer and I … Wes and Lindsay also enjoy being at the lake … so I figured what better place to shoot their engagement photos. We drove down to his family’s unique Cedar Creek Lake house this past weekend for their session. I don’t think we could have had better weather that afternoon. We started off in and around the house. A boat ride break eventually offered up some cool photo ops. We ended the session back at the house at sunset … followed by dinner, drinks and two hours in the hot tub. I love my job!

Photog Shootout :: Dallas 2010
March 3, 2010This past Friday I met up with many new faces to shoot, learn and laugh at the Photog Shootout GTG in Dallas. We got a little taste of the atmosphere the Ryan Manor in Dallas offers people looking for a vintage and intimate setting for their event. The shootout was organized by Rob “Ninja” Nicholson and sponsored by Groom Sold Separately. The group leaders consisted of Amy Karp, Heather Essian and Jason Huang from Table4. The models were appropriately styled to match the venue and allowed us to capture some fun and unique images. It was a little too crowded … but I managed to capture some images I thought were blog-worthy. The best part was making a few new photog friends!

Lindsay & Wes :: He Popped the Question!
January 23, 2010Last night was an exciting time for Jennifer’s family … her younger sister Lindsay got engaged to her boyfriend Wes. I knew something was up on Thursday when Wes called me to ask for her Dad’s cell phone number … and was without a doubt when Lindsay called yesterday after 9 pm for us rush over with my camera. He popped the question at Pappa’s Bros. Steakhouse in Dallas … also where they had been for their first anniversary. She was completely surprised and obviously said yes. She ended up not eating her meal … which turned out to a good thing … because the to-go bag made for some nice ring shots. It was so awesome to see them both so excited and happy and we wish them the best. Welcome to the family Wes!

Dallas Photog “Shoot Out”
November 25, 2009A couple of weeks ago a few of us local photogs gathered in the square in Carrollton to photograph Ashley & Tod’s engagement photos. I was intimidated at first … being around some of the best photographers in Dallas and all. The guest list included Allison Davis, Amy Karp, Andrea Crosswhite, Catie Ronquillo, Celina Gomez, Jared Rey, Jason Huang, Josh Littrell, Magaly Abbott, Stacy Reeves and Stephen Brown.
