Here’s the next chapter of Jennifer & James’ destination wedding at the Zoetry Casa Del Mar Los Cabo Resort. I was going to follow Jared Rey’s lead on this one and mix these images up with First-Look images. But I decided to dedicate this post entirely to Jennifer and James preparing themselves for their wedding day. If you missed Jennifer’s bridal session … check it out here. And … if you haven’t seen Jared Rey’s images yet check them out here. Look for First-Look images to hit the blog sometime tomorrow.
Jennifer & James :: Primpin’ it Up!
April 28, 2010Jennifer :: Bridals
April 27, 2010A few weeks ago I traveled with Jared Rey to sunny Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to assist him with Jennifer and James’ destination wedding. It was the first time either of us had covered a wedding outside of the country … and we couldn’t have asked for a better couple to work with. Instead of one long post … this wedding will be divided up into multiple posts in order to coincide with Jared’s posts. Depending on how it’s received … breaking events up might become permanent practice. To start things off … here’s a look at a few images I captured during Jennifer’s bridal session at the stunning Zoetry Casa Del Mar – Los Cabos Resort. Be sure to check out Jared Rey’s beautiful images from the bridal session as well. You’ll notice a few of my images on his site as well. It’s always fun to see how differently fellow photographers process your images. Stay tuned … more to come soon!
2010 DFW Mud Run
April 14, 2010I had a long day this past Sunday. Immediately following the implosion of Texas Stadium … I had to head home to pick up my beautiful wife and take her to Fort Worth for the 2010 DFW Mud Run to get down and dirty. She was on a team of five women who have more determination than most men. I could have done the obstacles … no sweat … but not during the course of a 10K run. I think I would have died. Heck I thought I was going to die trying to stay ahead of them on my bicycle in order to take photos of them at each obstacle. One of the team members shoes completely fell apart and she had to run more than half of the course in her socks. I would have been done right there! We had no idea of what to expect … but I can tell you there was a ton of mud!
Texas Stadium Imploded
April 12, 2010After a crazy … but awesome weekend of travel to and from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for a destination wedding … I ended the week off with a bang!
I’ve always wanted to see an implosion. Needles to say, I’d been anticipating the implosion of Texas Stadium for a long time. The event surpassed my expectations tremendously. The experience was truly INCREDIBLE!! I was in the BEST possible place to view it … from one end-zone to the other … and for free. The sound of the explosives being triggered are still etched in my mind. Of course I photographed the event … and have found some great videos on the Web. Unfortunately … no matter how good the photo or video … neither will ever convey the experience of actually standing there in person. Here’s a few of the 80 plus images I captured from my vantage point as the stadium was laid to rest.

You can see one of the first explosives detonating on the left.

If you’d like to see video … I found this video on YouTube. It’s was captured from the same location. I’m off-camera by about two or three people on the right-side in the foreground.
Destination … Cabo San Lucas
April 8, 2010Will be in Mexico for a few day and will not be returning phone calls or emails until Monday, April 12th.
Thanks so much!
Mikey & Dash :: Engaged!
April 5, 2010I had been looking forward to this shoot for a while. Working with these two didn’t fall short of my expectations at all. Their session was initially scheduled for
Friday … but I’m glad we changed it to Saturday because the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. They’ll be getting married in June at the Dallas Arboretum. Unfortunately … I’m not the lucky one covering the wedding. You can say I’m a little bummed … these two are a going to make an awesome bride and groom. And the wedding itself will surely be spectacular!

E-mail Out of Order
April 2, 2010Yesterday, I was enlightened to the fact people have been sending me e-mails … but I haven’t been receiving them. The biggest problem is … I don’t know how long this has been going on and I don’t know how many people I’ve left dangling in the wind. I later figured out any e-mail, new or just reply, sent via an online service provider such as Yahoo!, Gmail, Hotmail, etc would not reach my inbox. Further tinkering has caused all incoming and outgoing e-mails to stop all together.
For some reason the contact form still works. Until this problem is resolved … please use it to contact me.
My sincere apologies to those I never responded to and please let me know if I left you hanging.
Jade :: Bridals!
March 24, 2010I’ve been anxiously waiting to post these. A couple of weeks I tagged along with Jared Rey to an amazing Highland Park home to photograph bridal portraits of his lovely friend Jade. She’s not a professional model … but I would have never known had she not told me. She worked the camera like a pro … people like her make it so easy on us photogs. When I wasn’t assisting Jared with lighting … I was snagging photographs. Be sure to check out Jared’s awesome shots from this session!

Lindsay & Wes :: Engaged!
March 18, 2010As some of you already know … my sister-in-law Lindsay was recently engaged to Wes. It’s always great to photograph friends and family because you typically know what they like to do and where they feel most comfortable. Much like Jennifer and I … Wes and Lindsay also enjoy being at the lake … so I figured what better place to shoot their engagement photos. We drove down to his family’s unique Cedar Creek Lake house this past weekend for their session. I don’t think we could have had better weather that afternoon. We started off in and around the house. A boat ride break eventually offered up some cool photo ops. We ended the session back at the house at sunset … followed by dinner, drinks and two hours in the hot tub. I love my job!

Photog Shootout :: Dallas 2010
March 3, 2010This past Friday I met up with many new faces to shoot, learn and laugh at the Photog Shootout GTG in Dallas. We got a little taste of the atmosphere the Ryan Manor in Dallas offers people looking for a vintage and intimate setting for their event. The shootout was organized by Rob “Ninja” Nicholson and sponsored by Groom Sold Separately. The group leaders consisted of Amy Karp, Heather Essian and Jason Huang from Table4. The models were appropriately styled to match the venue and allowed us to capture some fun and unique images. It was a little too crowded … but I managed to capture some images I thought were blog-worthy. The best part was making a few new photog friends!
