Urban Family Session :: The Kubins
December 4, 2010Brandon & Tessa :: Autumn Love
October 20, 2010Just when I felt like I was hitting a wall and needing inspiration … my friend and fellow photographer Jared Rey asks me if I want to join him on a fun personal project he was working on with his new friend Vanessa of Butterfly Sparks Creative. Lucky for me, I had nothing going on and decided to join them later that day. I was immediately inspired by Vanessa’s ability to create a story and successfully engage the couple within it. The images Jared and I captured that day are stunning and couldn’t have done it without her creativity. I most definitely look forward to working with her in the future. Here’s a few of my favorite images from that incredible afternoon.

Evie :: One Year Old!
December 10, 2009Nikki (mom), Matt (dad) and Jennifer (my wife) have all been friends since college at Louisiana Tech in Ruston. We typically try to visit each other once a year … but this year we got to see them twice! When we visited them in Copperas Cove earlier this year I remember seeing a few cool spots downtown that would make good photo locations … and wished I could use them. Needless to say, I was excited when over a month ago Nikki told Jennifer she wanted me to come down and do portraits of Evie and a few family portraits for Christmas cards. Due to crazy schedules … the only date available was this past Sunday. Little did we know … the weather was not going to cooperate at all. After driving three hours through endless cold, wet weather … I realized I wasn’t going to be able to use the locations I had in mind. Thank God for speed-lights, Pocket Wizards and for forcing me out of my comfort-zone … oh and furniture with character! I ended up turning their master bedroom into a mock studio and captured some unique images I’d of never captured had the weather been perfect. I think Evie had a better time playing in the dresser drawer than she would have had somewhere in downtown Copperas Cove anyways. There’s a ton of them … but here are my favorites.

Siddall Family
December 5, 2009Dallas Photog “Shoot Out”
November 25, 2009A couple of weeks ago a few of us local photogs gathered in the square in Carrollton to photograph Ashley & Tod’s engagement photos. I was intimidated at first … being around some of the best photographers in Dallas and all. The guest list included Allison Davis, Amy Karp, Andrea Crosswhite, Catie Ronquillo, Celina Gomez, Jared Rey, Jason Huang, Josh Littrell, Magaly Abbott, Stacy Reeves and Stephen Brown.

Catherine & Nick :: Engaged!
November 2, 2009We decided to take advantage of the new AT&T Performing Arts Center in downtown Dallas for Catherine and Nick’s session while it’s still a new and fresh location. On the day of their session it had only been open to public for two weeks. It is a spectacular looking place with lots of cool and inspiring places to shoot. I’m sure they weren’t the absolute first … but they will always be able to say they were one of the first to have their engagement photos done at that location. But the delivery truck we found … they were definitely the first and only.
We’ve known these two for a long time and it’s great to finally see them about to tie the knot.

Addison :: The Skunk Fairy!
October 29, 2009Meet Addison. She made her debut back in May with her two cousins Caden & Graham. This time she’s back at the Dallas Arboretum for the Great Pumpkin Festival to pose in her skunk costume. Fortunately … she didn’t get into character during our time together … if you know what I mean. ;- ) Choosing the images for this post proved to be quite difficult because she doesn’t know how to take a bad photo.
