Last night was an exciting time for Jennifer’s family … her younger sister Lindsay got engaged to her boyfriend Wes. I knew something was up on Thursday when Wes called me to ask for her Dad’s cell phone number … and was without a doubt when Lindsay called yesterday after 9 pm for us rush over with my camera. He popped the question at Pappa’s Bros. Steakhouse in Dallas … also where they had been for their first anniversary. She was completely surprised and obviously said yes. She ended up not eating her meal … which turned out to a good thing … because the to-go bag made for some nice ring shots. It was so awesome to see them both so excited and happy and we wish them the best. Welcome to the family Wes!

It’s that time of year again … which means it’s time to send out Christmas cards. We’ve been taking self-Christmas portraits to send out to our friends and family for the past three years. If you’re a new to the JA2 Photography blog … this post may throw you off a bit since it doesn’t have anything to do with the wedding and portrait industry.
Beginning in January 2009 I started documenting the construction of Section 32 of the President George Bush Turnpike Eastern Extension. I recently decided to create a separate JA2 Photography blog called Section32. The new site is specifically dedicated to sharing the images I capture from the construction area and all future posts regarding this matter can be viewed there. I will always blog images of major changes and also some of my favorite images. Viewers can also access extensive photo galleries within my proofing area. While viewing a gallery you have the ability to flag multiple photos in order to compare before and after. I had such a hard time choosing photos to blog from Rachel and Brennan’s awesome wedding! This is a long post … but yet … it’s such a small taste of what I actually captured that day. And … this doesn’t even include the days prior or the following day … or my personal photos. I took A LOT of photos that week! The wedding ceremony was held at the The Lutheran Church of Arcata. The fun then moved to the reception spot at Merryman’s Beach House on Moonstone Beach in Trinidad.

I had the pleasure of helping a friend capture Celene & Henry’s wedding day this past weekend. The ceremony was held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church and the reception took place at Myers Parks and Events Center … both in McKinney, Texas.
